Recap: Nike+ FuelFest

On Sunday we attended the Nike+ FuelFest, Nike’s event to usher in the much talked about FuelBand. True to Nike form, the night was held inside no less than the iconic Battersea Power Station and whilst waiting outside we had no idea what was in store for us. Take a walk down a long dark tunnel, occasionally illuminated by the LED motion akin to the FuelBand itself and we found ourselves inside a gargantuan haze filled tent.

The structure was packed with displays demonstrating the recent innovations on their Nike+ system and allowing guests to get hands on with the product and try it out for themselves. However, the real reason we had all made our way to Battersea was because all 2000 guests received a FuelBand to be put through it’s paces whilst watching performances from Magnetic Man and Tinie Tempah. The Acts weren’t exactly to our personal tastes however the addictive friendly rivalry created by the fuel points ensured we all made moves to out do one another. Some took it a little more seriously than others (the girls, who won). The light show was pretty impressive too, a huge lighting rig sat atop of the stage creating some incredible visuals, whilst the whole of the Battersea Power Station had similar projections illuminating it’s exterior.

If they’re putting this much into their Nike+ system, I’m looking forward to seeing where this goes. I don’t think we’ve seen anything yet.

Head on over to the Nike FuelBand website to find out where you can get your hands on one.
