Video: Om Unit – Ulysses

As the release date for Om Unit’s new EP ‘Aeolian’ on Civil Music approaches, we see the lead track Ulysses get an official music video.

With his own unique spin on Juke that sees the genre softened and heavily influenced from the deep, steppy Drum & Bass of dBridge and Calibre, Om Unit has definitely cut his own little niche. This EP is named after the aeolian processes of the wind shaping the earth and other planets over years and in an odd and very 80s way, this video reflects that.

Taking inspiration from the more 8-bit influence of Om Unit’s sound, the video continues along that Tron style theme that has followed Om Unit visually over the last year or so. It couldn’t be more fitting with this track as the landscape and events shift to reflect the slightest change in mood and instrumentation within the song itself. Somehow the cubes in this video manage to symbolise that military persistance of the beat perfectly.

Om Unit’s Aeolian EP is released on Civil Music on Monday 30th July.
