Spine TV Presents: Popek by Will Robson-Scott

Spine TV once again work with filmmaker Will Robson-Scott on a new short documentary. This time Will profiles Polish rapper and mixed martial artist Popek as he undergoes the obscure procedure of having the whites of his eyeballs tattooed.

It’s an increasingly popular trend, ‘though Popek becomes one of the first people in the UK to undergo the somewhat bizarre surgery. As you would expect, it’s a fairly dangerous procedure, and the full risks and long term effects remain to be seen. Popek is shown to be dedicated to his goal and remains calm at all times, though there’s an underlying tension throughout which appears more prevalent in moments of silence. As a warning to anyone who doesn’t particularly like eyeballs or needles – it gets pretty graphic.

Popek follows on from Will Robson-Scott’s first Spine TV film Graeme, which you can watch here, and it’s another excellent documentary. See more at Spine TV.
