New Balance celebrate the 30th anniversary of their infamous Flimby factory with this triple pack of 576’s dedicated to factory staff.
It’s not the first time that New Balance have picked out factory staff to dedicate shoes to, with a similar operation being rolled out for the brand’s Centenary Pack back in 2006, dedicating three shoes to their three longest serving members of Flimby staff at the time. This time, New Balance celebrate in a similar fashion, naming three renditions of the 576 after three of their most dedicated Flimby factory employees.
Using materials that reflect the character of each individual from the “cutting room”, the shoes sit well together, but each hold a very strong personality. Roy Bell gets a pigskin rendition, Billy Edgar a nubuck and chord, while Andy Mandle gets premium leather. Being New Balance and being Flimby, the materials and construction are incredible and I doubt any corners were cut when making this “cutting room” pack.
Head over to Crooked Tongues to pick up a piece of British history. Don’t find yourself regretting not getting involved, like myself and the 2006 Centenary Pack.
