After living in the deepest depths of YouTube for the past few years, the Harmonimix remix of Trim’s ‘Confidence Boost’ finally sees an official music video and release.
Created during James Blake’s brief remix period as Harmonimix, this gem never saw it’s way to wax and up until recently it looked like only a select few would ever get their hands on it. Out of the blue, R&S announced that they would be giving this a release, which is no surprise as the label is home to some of James’ earliest releases. What is a surprise is that Keysound were under the impression that it was theirs. However, that’s another story.
All the politics aside, this is one of the better Harmonimix remixes and it’s great to see it finally getting the release that it deserves (and the first Harmonimix release not to be a white label). This video does the tune justice as well, with Trim featuring heavily in the Nike 21st Century Windrunner and putting it to good use. The occasional shot of James is welcome, if a little awkward at times, especially in contrast to the passion and movement of Trim.
Check out the video below, directed by Rollo Jackson, and make sure you cop a copy of the release from your local stockist or Boomkat.
