Ashdown Workshop, for those who aren’t too familiar with the brand are a father and son outfit based in Sussex. With a wealth of leatherwork experience under their belt, gained from crafting saddles, these guys know how to piece together an accessory that is durable, beautifully made and a joy to use.
Back in June we wrote about their iPhone 4 cases and now, since Apple have released the iPhone 5, Ashdown Workshop have followed suit and reworked the case to the new dimensions. The new cases are available in two colour options; Almond or Cashew, with the Almond also being made available with a hand polished finish that darkens the original shade and adds a classic sheen.
Like the rest of their product line, these cases are all 100% handmade without the use of any machinery, hand cut and hand stitched using waxed linen thread from Northern Ireland and locally sourced 5oz premium leather. Having given an iPhone 4s version of the case a good run for it’s money ourselves, we can’t recommend these enough. The case fits the iPhone like a glove with no room for unintentional slipping, whilst protecting the screen from knocks. The leather ages beautifully with a dark patina around the edges. Scratches and scrapes all adding to the overall personality of the product.
The product comes beautifully packaged in a hand-stamped Ashdown Workshop cotton bag within a gift box for £40. Available now from Ashdown Workshop.
