Nike Wardour Max 1

Nike pull for a new mashup in the shape of this Wardour Max 1, a combination of the Wardour chukka and Air Max 1.

The mashups at Nike have been dominated by the Free sole of late, so it’s nice to see the Air Max 1 sole, arguably the best Nike sole unit, seeing it’s turn. The idea of a hiking style Air Max 1 should make most heads upset, but this cross-polination with the Wardour Boot works surprisingly well. Dripping in luxurious suede with hiking style D-rings and vivid ACG inspired laces.

For those not too familiar with the Wardour, it’s a chukka shaped low-profile sneaker from Nike that sits comfortably in the smart-casual category, similar to the likes of Pointer and Clae. Fortunately, the addition of hiking details to this mashup make the shoe instantly look better than it’s chukka predecessor. It quite literally takes the best from both parents and adds a little something extra as well. The micro Swoosh on the side finish these off to perfection, where the normal AM1 Swoosh would simply dominate this shoe. The styling of this shoe is almost reminiscent to the ACG Magma as well as the Wardour.

Head over to Urban Industry where you can get this cross-breed for £92 a pair.
