Woolrich x PRO-Keds Royal Master DK

Two of America’s great originators have come together, Woolrich and PRO-Keds, to create this rendition of the Royal Master DK sneaker in three colourways.

Taking the iconic Woolrich hunting plaid and using it to create this special Royal Master DK actually works surprisingly well. Plaid or tartan shoes is almost always an ugly affair, but here we see one of the rare occasions where it works, especially in the grey and dark green colourways. This is helped by that popping white outsole and toebox.

The Royal Master DK is a fine silhouette and not unfamiliar to a good collaboration either (remember the recent Norse Projects adaptation). It’s a shoe that looks good on the shelf and even better on the foot, with a timelessly classic style. First created in 1975 as an updated version of it’s 1972 predecessor, the Royal Master, the DK introduced a padded ankle and more refined design details, keeping everything that made the Royal Master the iconic basketball shoe that it was.

These plaid Woolrich versions are available now from Soleheaven in limited numbers for £59 a pair.
