To honour the arrival of the Chinese Year of the Snake, denim brand EVISU have crafted their first ‘Gold Edition’ denim, combining the brands long-standing traditions with modern details.
Using their 2000 fit block, the premium quality, indigo-dyed selvedge denim is offset with red stitching and gold hardware, further tying in with Chinese traditions. The most significant detail though is found on the reverse – the entire seat embellished with a snake skin-printed leather ‘daicock’, cementing the piece’s connection to the Chinese lunar calendar. EVISU are known for their fairly outlandish denim styles (you can see another example here), and this is definitely no exception.
There are plenty of additional details – the fly-buttons button through the front of the denim so they’re visible when worn, and the leather patch on the back, also gold, is individually number stamped. The denim comes packaged in a red-lined presentation box and is limited to 500 pieces. You can expect to find it at EVISU stores in London, on Newburgh St and at Boxpark.
