Introducing: Thorocraft

American footwear brand Thorocraft finally make their way to the UK, gracing our shores with their impressive Spring/Summer 2013 collection.

Founded in New York, but now based in California, Thorocraft blend classic silhouettes with printed and textured flair in a truly original way. I’m informed that with over 200 processes is involved in the production of each hand manufactured shoe over a period of 2 days, 9 hours and 39 minutes. All of the products use specifically sourced Vachetta leather that gains character as it wears.

In the current Spring/Summer 2013 collection, we see three Oxford shoe styles in a variance of colourway and design. The sharp execution of The Mercer shoe in either black, navy or camo print leather features patterned, laser-cut vents across the throat of the shoe – a perfect addition for the Summer heat, whilst adding a certain finesse to the classic Oxford design. The Ross shoe is a suede number that features Thorocraft’s signature woven toe pattern. This design comes in black, ash and my personal favourite; brown. Finally, the cotton canvas Hampton, probably more classic in its build but possibly the most flamboyant of the three designs, featuring either a nautical stripe print or a Hawaiian floral print.

This Thorocraft Spring/Summer 2013 collection is making it’s way into The Garbstore now.
