Australia’s Sneaker Freaker aren’t new to the collaboration game, with an impressive resumé that includes projects with Saucony, Lacoste, Supra and New Balance. Once again Sneaker Freaker team up with New Balance, producing this ferocious ‘Tassie Devil’ 998 which celebrates 10 years of the Sneaker Freaker publication.
The name tag is definitely appropriate here as the shoe takes pride in one of Australia’s more ferocious animals, the Tasmanian Devil. Last time SF & NB teamed up it resulted in the New Balance 850 ‘Skippy’, which is a little more reserved than this ‘Tassie Devil’ release. You’ll find some seriously premium materials used here with Wolverine suede coming in various purple tones, coupled with mesh making for that classic running shoe combo. The colour and material application is perfectly balanced and finished off with the triangular fang and speckled details on the outsole. This is another fine release for both Sneaker Freaker and New Balance which sits perfectly next to the 850 ‘Skippy’ while proving once more that New Balance know how to produce superior quality footwear with a suitable price tag.
The ‘Tassie Devil’ will see a release date of March 30 over at Hanon, being available in-store at 10am and online at noon.
