adidas Originals dig into the archive to reissue one of their best runners in its OG colourway; the ZX 8000.
The ZX 8000 is a top example of an epic running shoe from the past. It’s got everything you could want; a timeless shape, some of that late ’80s sci-fi spaciness, a decent amount of technological bragging and some incredible colourways. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the Aqua Blue colourways get a reissue, having hit select shelves back in Spring 2010 and going slightly under the radar, leading to a lot of people regretting not picking them up (myself included). Fortunately, adidas Originals have opened this story once again and dropped the OG colourway in all its Tron-like glory. Accompanying the OG is a Dawn Blue colourway that comes from 2002, making a very welcome return for all those who love the shape but aren’t quite brave enough for the OG’s futuristic colour palette.
One thing that adidas do very well is reissues; the shape is always great, the materials are on point and of a very similar quality and the overall aesthetic is right. These ZX 8000s are no exception, with their fantastic bright colours and smooth almost metallic textures that must have been simply mind blowing when they first hit shelves back in 1989.
We’re very happy to see this great classic runner making a return and in two of the best colourways it ever wore. You can get a pair of these ZX 8000s exclusively in the UK from size? for £95 a pair.
