UK online retailer Glass Boutique enlist the 35mm skills of photographer Richard Gaston for their Spring/Summer 2013 lookbook.
Presented using two models and shot in several varying locations across London, the lookbook appears to focus on friendship as the two kill time in the urban equivalent of picturesque surroundings. As with most lookbooks, some shots are stronger than others, but with this lookbook in particular it seems that the gap between the two is a little larger than normal. The shots where the models are looking straight in the camera and pulling poses are blown out of the water by the more organic shots of the two interacting, as well as the detail shots. Some of the shots in this lookbook are stunning and you start to feel the full advantages of shooting on film.
The styling is well presented and represents the store well, being both adventurous and accessible at the same time. Featured brands include the likes of Penfield, Carhartt, Soulland, YMC and Libertine-Libertine and the styling has been done by the talented Jake Hunte, who opts for a wearable approach that still portrays a certain amount of character.
