The Best of #MYDAILYSTREET: April 2013 pt. 1

mydailystreet-April-2013-pt-1-title-image

Last week we announced the arrival of our own Instagram hash tag – a place where people can showcase their own style using #MYDAILYSTREET. In our first showcase, we take a look at some of the best ones submitted so far this month.

It’s been interesting to see people’s different approaches to both style and how they present it, with some people opting for a classic on-foot shot of their prized sneakers and other meticulously laying out their daily outfit in an artistically OCD fashion. All of them are appreciated for their own merits and we actively encourage getting creative with how you showcase your style.

If you want to feature in one of our future showcases, just get creative on Instagram to show us what you’re wearing and hash tag the photo with #MYDAILYSTREET so we can find it. If you really want to get our attention, feel free to tag @thedailystreet in the photo as well. The very best make it onto the blog.

Congratulations to everyone who made the cut for our first ever showcase. A historic moment in social media history! Enjoy the below and keep on showing the digital world how you’re styling out.

I should love this, and for many years i did. But i cant help to feel like all this is just as appealing as a modified car group where blokes longing to show off their motors makes the overall objective pretty lame. I dont think i like sparkly shoes and girls in snap backs anymore, it all seems a bit pretentious.

Glad i got that off my chest, s’been really bugging me since i walked past the gay brigade at crepe city. BYE

The majority of these images make up a hype showcase of who has the most supreme or the most limited sneakers. For me, the sixth image down is the only one that shows any fashionable creation. The rest are all just labels. I think the focus should be on the outfit as a whole, otherwise this feature will only last five minutes and it’ll be saturated with kids in supreme 5 panels and girls in Nike shoes.

Some great kicks in the selection but I thought DailyStreet stood for much more than this. Certainly not anything new to follow — #outfitgrid #crepecity

Bit bias considering the 6th image is actually mine, but i agree with rob.
Not enough whole outfits and styles, not checked out the full selection of what TDS had to work with so maybe once more contributors get involved there will be a more varied bunch, not just box logos and nikes.

haha big up iamgeorgeyounan. nice selection! I agree, perhaps if more people get involved they’ll have better quality submissions to choose from.
