Le Coq Sportif once again dip into their rich running heritage after the success of the Eclat reissues, this time bringing the 1990 Flash back from the grave in two colourways.
Le Coq Sportif may not be the first brand that springs to mind when you think of sneakers, but trust us when we say that they are making moves … and more importantly the correct moves. Having laid rather dormant in the depths of the sneaker game for a little while now, the reissue of the 1985 Eclat running shoe brought some very welcome attention back to the brand, who have a more than incredible back catalogue of running footwear.
Here we see the next archive sneaker to get a reissue, with the ’90s Flash entering the frame in two brilliantly simplistic colourways. A timeless combination of textured silver nylon and off-white suede works so well and when teamed up with the addition of some truly ’90s colour hits, these shoes sum up classic running footwear. It’s nice to see Le Coq Sportif remembering that they used to manufacture some awesome footwear back in the day and bringing it back very carefully, making sure that they do justice to the originals, even down to the quality of the packaging. Maybe we’ll see the trend continue and bring back some other ’90s classics such as the Aquillon or R400? We can only cross our fingers and hope.
These Flash sneakers can be found at key Le Coq Sportif accounts including Crooked Tongues, Hanon and Footpatrol for £75 a pair.
