size? x Nike ‘Urban Safari’ Pack part 1 (Air Max Light & Toki)

When it comes to re-appropriating classic Nike running designs and giving them an appealing makeover, size? know a thing or two. This “Urban Safari” pack feels like it’s aimed at a UK audience but should also have wider appeal, with a nod to some classic ACG colourways of the past and some coveted textures and patterns thrown in the mix.

Taking cues from the ACG Mowabb and Lava High and the Safari, size? have managed to combine all of those inspirational aesthetics and apply them successfully to the Air Max Light and Toki models. This is a formula which has worked well in the past and the ACG inspired Huarache LE release a few years back comes to mind. Although designed for rougher terrain the ACG line has never felt out of place in cities such as London and New York.

There are four choices in this part 1, which seems to be the first of a series of ACG inspired releases and carries on from past success’ such as the ‘Geometric’ pack. Both Air Max Light’s are constructed of high quality suede and mesh, accented with a subtle application of the famous Safari print on the Swoosh. The material choices here seem to be carefully considered and are of a high standard. You’ll find a full-leather workout on the Toki’s and a hint of Safari print on the heel. Both Toki options are somewhat reserved in comparison to the Air Max Light’s, but round of this part 1 nicely.

All four shoes will be available at size? in-store this coming Friday 7 June. The online release happens at 6am BST via a direct link promoted on the size? Twitter and Facebook pages. The Air Max Light’s are priced at £100 and the Toki’s £65.

Keep checking the site for more news on part 2 which includes a Roshe Run.
