Earlier Air Max models aren’t so hard to come by now and there’s been a lot of coverage on that front lately coming in the form of themed packs. We’re used to seeing the Air Max 1, 90 and 95 bunched together, but sometimes the unexpected token Air Max 97 turns up to join the party.
This Air Max 97 Tape ‘Camo’ make-up is part of another themed pack that sees the likes of the Air Max 1 , 90, Air Classic BW and 95 all get similar treatment with an application of dark camo prints throughout the upper. It’s a stealthy aesthetic that translates very well to the layered panelling system of the Air Max 97’s design. On the practical side of things you’ll find a mix of synthetic mesh and nubuck leather combined with Nike’s Hyperfuse technology on the upper; a combo that not only provides maximum support and a lightweight feel, but works in unison with the futuristic aesthetics of the AM 97. Oh and we forgot to mention the shoe’s extended Air Max unit for that extra cushioning.
The camo isn’t too garish and is balanced out with a mixture of grey and black accents that bring out the details of this classic running shoe. It’s a look that could potentially be more appealing to a wider audience. There’s no shortage of appreciation for the Air Max 97 here at TDS and this release provides another reason to carry on that love.
The Nike Air Max 97 Premium Tape ‘Camo’ is available from Soleheaven and other good Nike stockists now.
