Hanon have announced their collaborative effort on the Reebok Classic Leather 30th Anniversary, taking inspiration from the Aberdeen Leopards.
To put it simply, Hanon do some of the best collaborative sneakers in the world. They repeatedly smack it with great looking footwear with rich stories inspiring the design. Reebok Classics are also doing a great job with silhouettes and materials for their special projects at the moment, brought to a lot of people’s attention lately thanks to the exceptionally well executed Palace Skateboards collaboration. Here we see Hanon help Reebok Classics celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Classic Leather with an all suede rendition.
Crafted from luxurious pig suede, both plain and perforated, the shoe stinks of quality. Drawing direct inspiration from the pair of leopards that guard the crest of Aberdeen (Hanon’s city of residence), the shoes feature a rich golden yellow on the toe box and heel as well as a leopard print lining and insole. The creamy grey of the rest of the upper resembles the colour of almost every building in Aberdeen and more specifically the three castle turrets pictured in the crest. Final splashes of bright red on the tongue tab, heel and outsole come from the shield of the crest itself.
Once again Hanon have smacked this project. The embossed branding on the side sums up the subtle luxury of this collaborative version of the Classic Leather (not in leather).
The Hanon x Reebok Classic Leather 30th Anniversary ‘Aberdeen Leopards’ hit the shelves of Hanon at 10am on Saturday 3rd August before hitting the online store at 2pm packaged in a silk screened cotton dustbag.
