New Balance drop another three piece themed pack from their Flimby factory, this time drawing inspiration from tea for the 576 model.
We love a good themed sneaker pack here at The Daily Street and New Balance’s Flimby factory does themed packs as well as you can. Here we see another sterling story run through a classic running shoe, taking three of the most popular teas drunk at the factory to “infuse” each shoe if you will. New Balance running shoes are part of the British manufacturing heritage thanks to their factory located in the Lake District, as is our strange ability to be able to consume large amounts of tea, so it’s nice to see the two combined here.
Each shoe takes inspiration from a different tea, drawing on it’s name and traditionally associated colours to inspire the colourway of the shoe. Obviously, there’s little material references that you could take from a tea bag when designing a sneaker, so they have just opted for British made luxury instead. The tongue tabs feature the the traditional swing tags found attached to luxury bags of tea so that you know what tea you’re walking in, be it English Breakfast, Fresh Peppermint or Earl Grey.
The pack is limited edition and will be landing at End Clothing in August with a price tag of £120 a pair. We suggest you put on the kettle and enjoy the “Flimby – Powered by tea” video above while you wait.
