Nike Air Max 90 EM Premium Comfort (Atomic Red & Blue)

Nike’s ‘Engineered Mesh’ technology has reinvented some of our favourite and classic Air Max models and brought them up to date. This release makes use of the Air Max 90 resulting in two impressive adaptations.

There’s a blend of familiar performance and aesthetic elements on both of the shoes here. We’re seeing some laser blue, infrared (near enough) and lunar outsole styling. The EM upper allows for breathability and takes some of bulkiness out of the AM90 for a more slim line approach. Although the mesh unifies some of the panels, allowing for a lighter shoe, there’s still some of the familiar characteristics in place with the heel tab and suede side panel. As mentioned, the colour offering here seems like a play on both the infrared and laser blue palettes, with a nod to Nike’s Lunarlon and Free Run blocked out colour styling.

Weekly reissues amongst the mesmerising output of Nike’s present running sector are starting to get a little old, but the use of Engineered Mesh on old favourites feels a lot more appropriate and interesting.

These are available from Chimp now.
