Nike have combined two of their most innovative running technologies to create this gem of a shoe … the Nike Free FlyKnit.
I’ve been (not so) patiently awaiting this moment ever since I saw this shoe on some privillaged man’s foot at the Nike Sneaker Ball in Paris and well and truly lost my shit. It was one of those moments where the word ‘excitement’ doesn’t even come close … I mean the FlyKnit technology on a Free sole? Could life get any more comfortable? The FlyKnit technology launched straight onto a Lunar sole unit, which to me is a slight hybrid of sorts as it has always looked more at home on a marathon sole unit, but for some reason I never saw this one coming.
The Free sole has boomed in the last year or so and for good reason – it’s beyond comfortable and it looks great, even if it did take the masses years to come around to it’s charming ugliness. Here we see it take on a whole new level of radness with a complete FlyKnit upper and some super-sly FlyWire for the lacing. Can you tell I’m excited?
At the moment, there’s only wind of the Free FlyKnit coming on the Free 5.0 sole unit, but with recent Free’s having a choice of sole unit I wouldn’t be surprised if this shoe gets a selection quite soon also.
For now, you can head over to Nike.com and pre-order that badboy in a selection of colours for £130. Be sure to check out the video below as well.
