After an almost 30 year absence, adidas Originals have brought back one of their old time favourites, the City Marathon PT.
The City Marathon PT holds a firm place in the heart of many an adidas collector and fan, having strong cultural importance back in the ’80s, especially up North. Finally, adidas have dug into their archive and brought this classic back to the shelves. It’s combination of a lightweight synthetic upper, suede and web covered midsole stink of retro running greatness. For me, there’s nothing quite like the Dellinger Web covered adidas midsole, best known from it’s appearance on the Oregon. Original “tech” details such as the perforation on the toebox, the velcro tongue tab and the speed lacing system (aka D rings) give this shoe a strong personality.
Having released a limited edition black and white pair to select retailers, we now see the shoe hit the main line in these three more traditional colourways. Priced at £72 a pair, you can find these in-store and online at all good adidas Originals retailers including adidas.co.uk.
