After a selection of Instagram teaser clips and a preview image a few days ago, today we finally get a closer look at Footpatrol’s latest collaborative work – the Clarks Sportswear Tawyer FP.
The new collaboration is Footpatrol’s take on the Clarks Sportswear Tawyer Evo model, an evolution of the original Tawyer Mid boot. To ensure their collaboration was in-keeping with the classic nature of this Clarks silhouette, Footpatrol chose to take the traditional craft of woven footwear and apply it to the Tawyer structure.
The impressive Tawyer FP comes in two colours, Sand and Blue Multi, both featuring predominantly woven uppers which wrap around the lateral and medial sides. In the sand boot, the two-tone weave is met with traditional ‘Wallabee Brown’ suede on the toebox, tongue, ankle surround and midsole foxing, all contrasting against the off-white Vibram sole and inner lining.
The Blue Multi ‘Team FP Edition’ features a more vibrant five colour woven upper (the colours beautifully described as Blueprint, Daphne, Marshmallow, Beetroot and Columbia Green) and differs from the Sand slightly with a quilt-stitched toebox. Both models come with 3M reflective cord laces with coordinating coloured beads attached, leather heel pull-tabs debossed with the Footpatrol logo (the Blue alternatively features ‘Team FP Edition’ debossed into the pull-tab of the left shoe), and additional embroidered branding on the leather footbed and inside the tongue.
I should learn not to be surprised with projects like this from Footpatrol as once again the store has considered every little detail for this collaboration, tweaking everything to make it that little bit more special. The materials used are the definition of quality and they’ve been done exact justice by the skill in craftsmanship that a brand like Clarks can offer. The Sand represents something closer to your traditional Clarks styling while the Blue are a little more ‘Mr. Bottle Head’, but both are equally strong in their own right.
The Footpatrol x Clarks Tawyer FP will be available in both colours from this Saturday September 28th, exclusively at Footpatrol, priced at £120. Get a more detailed look in the pictures below.
