DEFCON x Vans Syndicate ‘Digi Camo’ Pack

DEFCON partner with Vans Syndicate for a two part collaboration that features two Vans models in a military-styled double pack.

The pack references two Naval Special Warfare camouflages – the AOR1 (desert) and the AOR2 (woodland). The AOR1 is utilised in the ‘Notchback’ Sk8 Hi (the name comes from the groove cut into the back), paired with tan suede panels on the toe and heel and a contrasting white leather side stripe. This model also features the DEFCON bolt along the midsole and on a removable velcro patch on the tongue.

The second pair in the pack is a green camo Old Skool which features contrasting black suede panels and a red DEFCON bolt flag label along the eyestay. Both models feature Drilex linings, Paracord laces and a unique reversed waffle sole bringing a new look to the trademark waffle pattern.

I’m really impressed with both models in the pack – Vans and DEFCON have gone all out to create two heavily militarised silhouettes with a tonne of differences from the norm. I am very much looking forward to picking up the Old Skools when these release this Friday October 25th at Vans Syndicate stockists including Scene.

These are pretty cool however I feel that Nike have already taken the camo as far as it can go, with the release of the various air maxes in camo color ways last month inspired by different countries, and then again with certain Janoski’s. I may be wrong though these could do very well for vans look forward to seeing there popularity.

Guns and Vans. What could be better? The AOR1 ‘Notchback’ Sk8 Hi is probably my favorite of the two sneakers.
