Music Monday: October Week 1

As we roll into October, this week’s Music Monday features another broad range of sounds from the likes of Sade to AFI to JME.

01. Murcof – Rostro

“This week, I had some time off work. On the days I wasn’t watching Breaking Bad/looking through CVs with Synamatix, I was at home ill in bed listening to this and feeling sorry for myself.” – Thom

02. Lost Idol – Brave The Elements (album)

“I was once asked to review this album for another blog back when I was in University and fell in love with it instantly. This is not the best track by far but there is little available on YouTube. Go find his BandCamp here .” – Thom

03. AFI – Total Immortal

“Whenever October rolls around I find myself reaching for a select few records branded with the ‘horror punk’ banner. AFI’s All Hallows’ EP is one of the best examples of that sound, as is this song which appears on it.” – Adam

04. Alkaline Trio – Emma

“Trio are often lumped into the same category, despite having less of the traditional ‘horror punk’ characteristics. ‘Emma’ is one of my favourites from 2003’s Good Mourning.” – Adam

05. JME – Integrity

“It takes quite a lot for a grime MC to get me excited these days but here on Integrity we see grime vet JME giving it as good as he ever has done.” – Luke

06. Sade – Lover’s Rock

“Sade suits a Sunday morning perfectly. This jam definitely got a couple of plays yesterday morning.” – Luke

07. Flatbush Zombies – Regular and Complex

“Basically another reason why the Zombies are at the top of the underground hip hop game.” – Luke

08. Sia – Lentil

“After a pretty full on week I needed music like this. Haven’t listened to Sia for ages as well, but she seemed right this week.” – Alex
