Recap: NikeTown NFL takeover

Last night we had the pleasure of attending an evening of NFL activity inside NikeTown London as the doors to the store closed early to give fans the chance to experience the National Football League’s London takeover.

The Jacksonville Jaguars, who play their first International Series game against San Francisco’s 49ers at Wembley this Sunday, took part in a Q&A session where they were grilled on their feelings about playing far away from home, their training schedule for the rest of the week and what it meant to be one of a handful of teams given the opportunity to play in the UK. The evening also included performances Jaguars cheerleaders ‘The ROAR’ with gameday snacks and refreshments racked up and a photo opportunity with the Lombardi Super Bowl Trophy.

We spoke to Jaguars number 93 Tyson Alualu about how it felt to be playing in London:

“It’s a pretty neat deal for us to have this opportunity and we’re just trying to make the most of it. We already have a fan base out here, but we’re definitely trying to build that and we’ve just got to do our part on the field on Sunday to bring some more excitement. It’s a blessing to be able to play at Wembley stadium and we can’t wait to have this experience”.
