James Blake and Chance The Rapper’s infectious ‘Life Round Here’ gets an official music video full of juxtapositions.
Shot entirely in black and white and with a similar grace that comes from hi-def slow motion, the video plays on the idea of the track title by mashing together the two worlds of the artists involved. A self-confessed fan of juxtaposition, award-winning directer Nabil has brought cliché elements from American urban living and placed them in the calm of the British countryside. Wether or not this is a direct reference to the roots of each artist is unsaid, but I think it’s pretty clear that they played a part in the storyboarding.
The video premiered today on You Need To Hear This, a music platform created by Philips and Noisey.
