British brand Suffoca deliver their latest series of collectables under the title Hitch, comprised of a series of new T-shirt designs, custom fleece pieces and a winter warmer in the form of a Suffoca branded beanie.
Suffoca is without a doubt one of the most creative brands we’ve showcased here, operating with a unique identity much unlike the other streetwear brands they are often lumped in with and consistently developing interesting products. The collection’s title is a nod to Alfred Hitchcock, who provides a quote which for me perfectly sums up what Suffoca is about “If I won’t be myself, who will?”.
Five new T-shirt designs introduce the collection, all printed on custom tees significantly softer and heavier than you’ll get from most brands, offering a more comfortable fit. All five take a monochromatic approach, with only a slight hint of pale blue and yellow to break things up. The creative application of text across the backs of the sleeves on the ‘Two Dust’ design is a highlight, and I personally love the simple styling of the Birds shirt too.
The longsleeves category is made up of two pullover hoods, a crewneck sweat and a navy blue longsleeve tee, complete with Suffoca text print down the left sleeve and a large character graphic on the back. The Script and Strike hoods however are perhaps the most creative, both featuring a hidden zip pocket on the side seam, additional printed details on the hood and sleeve, and in the case of the Script, a large Chenille patch across the chest.
These are some of my favourite pieces from Suffoca yet, and I’m impressed by how they have developed their offering while maintaining the design characteristics which continue to allow the brand to stand as an individual. not sacrificing any of its integrity in the process. Check out the new pieces below, and head to Suffoca for a closer look at the details.
