Sandqvist, one of our favourite new luggage manufacturers, have applied a pattern to their products for the first time as part of their SS14 collection, inspired by their native Lynx.
The Lynx is Sweden’s only feline and it’s also the mascot of the historical Swedish province Hälsingland. With this rich heritage, it makes complete sense that Swedish brand Sandqvist should draw inspiration from their beloved native animal. The Lynx is a beautiful creature with a unique patterned fur that has often been desired throughout history and here we see an artistic reinterpretation of the patterns and colours found both on the Lynx and in it’s geographical surroundings. The golden yellow is a direct reference to the feline, as are the spots, but the colours of the spots is where it veers slightly off course. No official description has been put out other than to say that the pattern has been inspired by the fur markings of a Lynx, but we can make an informed guess that the colours of the dots draw inspiration from some of the early camouflage patterns used by the Swedish military.
The collection includes the Lillian tote bag, Oskar backpack, Mickel washbag, Kerstin zip case, Sinclair laptop case and Pascal iPad case, all featureing the same Lynx camo pattern and and dark brown leather detailing.
The Sandqvist Lynx Camo Pack is available now from the Sandqvist webstore as well as all good stockists.
