Supreme Spring/Summer 2014 lookbook

Today Supreme presented the lookbook and product previews for their new Spring/Summer 2014 collection, due to release before the month is out.

Jason Dill returns on modelling duties showcasing a collection that is certainly the most bold we’ve seen from the brand in some time. The Spring/Summer season means we’re treated to a lighter, brighter colour palette over all, with mesh sports jerseys, half zip pullovers and bold colour blocking contributing to a very 90s feel. The signifiers of mid-90s Polo appear on the Competition shirt, Taped Seam Jacket and the F-1 Pullover – all of which are standout pieces – while the Bomber is the other jacket of choice, coming in a number of variations including all suede, the spiral embroidered Uptown and a reversible MA-1.

Regular collaborators Schott, Champion and Playboy all return for Spring/Summer (the Big C making an appearance on a couple of my favourite pieces) alongside a Pink Panther range. My personal favourite pairing sees the work of fantasy painter Boris Vallejo included on tanks and raglans, but I know that won’t be to everyone’s tastes, and this season’s chosen musician is Siouxsie Sioux of Siouxsie and the Banshees who appears on tees and a bleached pullover hood.

At this time Supreme’s extensive range of accessories always gets its fair share of mentions, with this season’s selection including an Everlast Jumprope (to go with those boxing gloves), sandals & a box logo beach towel to get you ready for the summer beach break, an aluminium baseball bat, Supreme branded Independent trucks and an excellent pitbull keychain amongst other things.

There’s a lot to get through here and while a lot of the wilder items might turn people off, I feel like this season offers something for every Supreme customer. Some of the pieces are genuinely ‘out there’ (those fur three-pieces in particular), but there’s also a lot of wearable product here. The first drop will go on sale at Supreme stores including London this Thursday February 20th, and online from Thursday 27th. View the full lookbook below and the product preview here.
