Official word of the long-teased collaboration from Supreme and Nike on the Air Foamposite 1 has finally broken, with a UK release set for Thursday April 3rd at the London store.
Two colourways of Nike’s bold Foamposite 1 will be available; black and red, both with an ornate gold print wrapped around the Foamposite shell. The Foam was first introduced in 1997 as Penny Hardaway’s signature model, flipping the typical conventions of the aesthetics of basketball footwear with its futuristic design – which still looks like something from another planet, even today.
Though some might question Supreme’s involvement in basketball, with this release the brand tells the story of the Foam’s transcendence from the courts to the streets. The shoes will also be accompanied by a custom print basketball jersey and short in two corresponding colours with Supreme and Nike branding.
The Supreme x Nike Air Foamposite 1 collection will go on sale this Thursday April 3rd at 11am at the Supreme London store and online.
