After six and a half years of business, Bristol store Donuts has today announced that they will close their physical store on Perry Road this weekend.
The store will re-launch online at the end of this month with a new website and the inclusion of some interesting new brand additions and promises of some big collaborative projects to come. With the new online store, Donuts will also launch their own range of apparel which runs on from some of the great special releases we’ve seen from the store in the past.
Despite its quiet demeanour over the last couple of years, Donuts has long held the title of one of the UK’s most respected streetwear stores and has played host to a number of great brands, events and projects over the years. Their support for many of the UK’s independent brands has undoubtedly helped young start-ups get off the ground, providing a great platform alongside some of the world’s great brand names.
Its great to have been a part of the Donuts story – you can read our 2011 ‘More Than a Shop’ interview with founders Jamie and Tom here for an in-depth look behind the store, and for a bit of fun you can also check out some images from one of the first Donuts events we had the pleasure of attending, the Nash x Second Son ‘Volcanic Gash’ event back in April 2010 here.
This weekend, April 12th and 13th, Donuts will say goodbye to the physical store with a close-out sale and a few send off drinks. A preview of the sale is available here.
