Nike Free Superior OG 2014 reissue

Nike Free-Superior- OG-Reissues-02

It’s been 10 years since the first release of the Nike Free 5.0 and to mark the decade of the design’s success, Nike have reissued the first Nike Free Superior OG 5.0 silhouette.

One man who was responsible for this innovative design is Toby Hatfield, who we interviewed not so long ago. The Nike Free line has progressed significantly over this last decade but this original design still retains the essence and original design ethos of the Free technology. It’s a design that was way ahead of its time and didn’t gain cultural relevance until the late 2000’s, with many collectors back in 2004 still focused on late ’80s and early ’90s reissues.

Now though it seems to fit right in. That shape is reminiscent of the Air Flow and should satisfy those of you who like to steer clear from any banana shaped calamities. The colour options here are solid and there’s some more vibrant options available over this month too.

These two make-ups are available from Wellgosh now.

Love this shoe. A modern classic 100%

I seriously like these. What do you think of the colourways? I’m considering the black/white but is the grey a stronger choice? can they be pulled off easily?

  • Alex Synamatix

Black would definitely be the easier colourway to pull off, but neither will be that hard to wear. Pick whichever your gut tells you too. You’ll almost certainly regret not getting the other pair anyway – always the way.
