Converse announce CONS Project London

CONS-PROJECT-LDN

Converse have announced the arrival of their CONS Project to London with a huge launch event and a jam packed schedule to follow.

Taking over a whole building in Peckham for 10 weeks, the CONS Project Londonis a community project designed to inspire the next generation of creative talent through music, art, skateboarding and style. The space itself will act as a community hub for creative outlets and inspiration, regularly hosting talks, exhibitions, workshops and parties, both inspiring the next generation as well as giving them the opportunity to learn from some of the UK’s best talent.

The CONS Project London has been curated by 5 ambassadors; Scratcha DVA (Hyperdub / Rinse FM), Sam Taylor (VICE / Little White Lies), Jerome Campbell (Converse CONS Skater), James Benenson (FOUND / Urban Nerds) and our very own Alex Synamatix (The Daily Street / comm•une). The main aim that these ambassadors have been set with is creating meaningful, hands-on experiences for local youth to get involved with for free and from the looks of the schedule for June and July, they’ve done very well. There’s also an outdoor skatepark at the space which will be open to use on Thursday and Friday from 4pm – 9pm and Saturday and Sunday from 12pm – 6pm.

Our Co-Founder Alex Synamatix has curated a series of talks aimed at inspiring the next generation of creatives and equipping them with the knowledge that you usually only learn first hand in the from some of the most respected names in their fields. Check the CONS Project London website for full listings and keep an eye out for the “Inspire | Create” seminars, including speakers from Jocks & Nerds, VNA, Hyponik, Mixcloud, Clothsurgeon, Dope Chef and photographers Neil Bedford, Viktor Vauthier, Rebecca Naen and Hayley Louisa Brown. Make sure you register for tickets asap!

The launch party is being headlined by Pusha T with support from Londoners Krept & Konan, Rustie and Scratcha DVA, taking place on Thursday 29th May.

More info to follow as the project unfolds.
