Aberdeen sneaker retailer Hanon team up with Diadora to produce this ‘Saturday Special’ N.9000 sneaker.
We love a Hanon collab. To put it simply, they’re some of the very best, always coming correct with the concepts and collaborative branding. This Diadora N.9000 doesn’t disappoint, paying homage to the ‘Saturday Special’, a UK public transport service that ran in the ’80s. Inspired by the influence of Italian sportswear in that decade, the shoe is coated in luxurious kangaroo leather and both pig and bovine suedes as well as the orginal close mesh that Diadora used on the 1990 OG N.9000. To ensure the shoe sticks to it’s roots, this collaboration has been hand crafted in Italy. British transport references can be found in the details with a retro multi print on the in-sole and tongue backer, while the shoe features dual branding on the tongue, in-sole and heel to sign them off. 3 pairs of laces, gold foil labels and a screen printed cotton dust bag and you’re good to go adventuring.
The Hanon x Diadora N.9000 ‘Saturday Special’ drops in-store this Saturday 31st May at 10am with the first 30 pairs receiving a commemorative t-shirt, priced at £120 a pair. The remaining stock will go online at 2pm the same day (if there’s much left) on the Hanon website.
