Video: Paul Rodriguez & Lance Mountain talk skate shoe progression

Nike SB skaters Paul Rodriguez and Lance Mountain discuss the progression of skate shoes from the re-interpretation of the Jordan 1 to today’s P-ROD 8.

Back in the late ’80s it was a common sight to see skaters in America wearing the Air Jordan 1 as their skate shoe of choice thanks to it’s high ankle support and technical cushioning. This was a time before skate shoes had really started to get technical and like most of skate culture, skaters were re-interpreting things designed for other purposes. Discussing the technical advantages of the Jordan 1 at the time and the technical advantages of the P-ROD 8 today, this video gives a brief insight into a piece of skate history from the personal angle of 2 of skate cultures legends.
