Sneaker related artwork is having a moment in the spotlight lately, becoming an online trend in its own right, but none have been as classic as these watercolour paintings from Achildcolor.
You’d be excused (just about) for thinking that watercolours were a bit passé, of an era past or simply boring. It’s a stigma that most of us attach to the medium thanks to TV shows of old people slowly painting strikingly average scenery in watercolours, but artists such as Dave White have recently brought the medium back into the limelight and these pieces from German painter Achildcolor will undoubtedly give watercolour a decent amount of credibility also.
Just when we’ve started thinking “How many more people are going to take up sneaker illustrating?”, these refreshing paintings have come to our attention and they’re brilliant. Not only is the execution exceptional, but the choice in footwear is also on point, reaching for the likes of the Nike Air Max 1 “USA”, BAPE x adidas Originals ZX 5000, Reebok Insta Pump Fury OG, Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel Lyte V “Volcano” and adidas Consortium ZX 500 OG to name a few.
Be sure to keep up to date with Achildcolor on Facebook and Instagram.
