London streetwear brand Born Ready present their Spring/Summer 2014 collection in the form of this lookbook.
Taking inspiration from ancient Greek Mythology, the collection is surprisingly white in comparison to a lot of Born Ready’s previous collections, but hey, it’s Summer isn’t it? A selection of short and long sleeved tees is complimented by more logo-driven headwear in the form of beanies and caps. For us, the tees are the more progressive items thanks to their references to Greek Mythology and general design theme. Brand founder and photographer Ihsan Kemal gave us a few words on the collection …
“I have always been interested in myths and legends, especially old drawings and the various interpretations that have been made over time. The strongest period in mythology for me would be Greek Mythology. The stories, statues and art covering this subject provide such a rich pool of creativity that I knew I wanted to base a collection around it. This first release focuses on two of the most well known figures from Greek Mythology, Zeus and Atlas, whilst also adding a lesser known goddess in Hebe – the goddess of youth, which makes up this 8 piece collection.”
The collection is available now from the Born Ready website.
