Last week Nike SB launched their NESW book focusing on UK skateboarding. Unfortunately the book will never be sold, so we thought we’d scan in some of our favourite pages for you guys.
We love a good bit of F&F publishing. In fact, it’s slightly addictive, especially when it comes from the Swoosh. This small hardback book to celebrate a decade of Nike SB in the UK is split into 4 sections; North, East, South, West. Putting a spotlight on their favourite skate shops and skate spots, Nike SB have created a book with an awesome UK focus. The only downside to this project is that it’s not for sale. Therefore, we’ve scanned a few of our favourite pages from each section to give you guys a glimpse. It’s been well over 10 years since I last photocopied pages from a skateboarding magazine, so this experience took me back!
Copies of the book have been issued to select Nike SB stockists throughout the UK, so I’m sure if you ask nicely at your local, they will let you thumb through the book for a more detailed look.
It’s worth us including the disclaimer that Henry Kingsford has written at the end of his introduction to the book, to give the book and what it includes a more honest representation:
“Despite all the travelling, we weren’t able to cover everywhere in the UK, nor the Republic of Ireland. NESW isn’t intended as an exhaustive documentation of skateboarding in the UK and Ireland. Instead, we travelled where our riders live, grew up, or spent significant time skating. If your town, shop or local spot isn’t included, we apologise. Who knows, maybe next time…”
