Nike LeBron 12 ‘Data’

The Nike LeBron 12 is one of the most challenging and forward thinking designs in the signature line yet. Informed by meticulous scientific testing and athletic performance analysis, the LeBron 12 is a representation of Nike Lab’s futuristic approach to designing basketball shoes. With a unique style of play, LeBron James’ multifaceted skill set evidently requires a shoe design which harnesses and supports that explosive game we’ve all been mesmerised with for the past decade. The LeBron 12 looks as if it answers that demanding call.

Three key design elements and innovations provide the foundations and main functioning system of this shoe. You’ve got next generation cushioning, harnessed support and natural flexibility. The LeBron 12’s upper progresses the signature line without straying too far from its predecessor, and that’s fine with us. However, things get a lot more exciting and different when you look to the outsole of this shoe. Utilising the benefits of Nike Zoom Air, once again, the Nike Lab has created a system which is based on five hexagonal Zoom Air bags to enhance natural motion and support explosive acceleration, with unprecedented cushioning mapped out in all the right spots on the foot. And with that translucent layer exposing the coloured hexagons, it just looks so damn cool too. If that wasn’t enough, there’s a combination of Nike Flywire and Hyperposite on the upper for more support, protection and flexibility.

Taking it’s name from the statistics which support the claim that LeBron James is the most dominant player in the game today, the LeBron 12 ‘Data’ is one of the best colour ways we’ve seen so far.

Available from Nike on Friday, 19 December.
