Le Coq Sportif introduce their new Made In France range with this luxurious Arthur Ashe tennis sneaker.
Produced entirely in France, more specifically Romans-sur-Isère, a town famed for it’s leather manufacturing, this top-tier rendition of the Arthur Ashe pro model plays on the stylish appeal that the silhouette holds. Le Coq Sportif owe a lot of their tennis fame to Arthur Ashe and his success, so it’s good to see them picking up this clean tennis shoe again for 2015, having previously brought back the Yannick Noah pro model.
The shoe itself is very similar in styling to an adidas Originals Stan Smith, which most tennis shoes were back in those days, and that’s nothing but a good thing considering the success the Stan Smith has enjoyed lately. The leather used on this model comes from Roux Tanneries, known for their luxury leathers, before being hand assembled in Groupe Archer’s workshops before being completed in the topstiching, assembly and finishing workshops.
This special presentation pair come in a wooden box with perspex lid, along with a wooden shoetree, a tin of leather cream and a leather buffing cloth. Numbered, these limited edition Arthur Ashe sneakers will retail for £165, dropping on 19th January at Footpatrol, Hanon and Sneakersnstuff.
Expect to see more from the ‘Made In France’ range as the year goes on.
