The C-Series consists of a revamped 600 and 996 specifically for cycling, as the model names suggest. Reinforced forefoots, hard density rubber outsoles and tongue pockets for the laces feature on both models. The 996C also features a striking N logo made from bike reflector material to look and function exactly as a bike reflector would. The perforated N logo on the 600C is a real nice touch for a simpler approach, as is the cork insole that we’re presuming features throughout the collection.
Colourways are kept surprisingly dark and stylish, with either a tonal black or tonal grey option currently being shown. Bike shoes are traditionally more bright. So bright that most people wouldn’t be seen in them when off a bike. Maybe that’s the thinking here? It’s interesting to see New Balance expand into this market and it’s really interesting to see them reinterpret vintage running models rather than design new silhouettes from the ground up. It’s clear that the style element is at the heart of this move.
The New Balance C-Series releases on 22nd January and fro the way things are being worded, we’re expecting more styles to be included in the launch. More on that closer to the time.
