Next up to give us their top 5 sneakers of 2014 is London based designer and footwear lover Clothsurgeon with a selection that includes Nike, Common Projects and Louboutin.
We’re big fans of Rav Matharu’s Clothsurgeon brand and as a close friend of The Daily Street we reached out to him to do one of our annual run downs of top 5 sneaker releases. Taking a personal approach, Rav has given us his top 5 sneakers to join his collection in 2014. It’s an interesting mix and not your usual selection from a sneaker head like the one that Morgan of Crepe City gave us.
Be sure to follow Clothsurgeon on Instagram if you don’t already.
In his own words, this is Rav’s top 5 sneakers of 2014 …
05. Common Projects Achilles Mid
Just because I need a fresh pair every 2 years or so… Clean, quality and minimal, simplistic but great design. “Less is more” done right.
04. Nike Air Max 1 Liquid Metal
A classic with a contemporary take. I also love shiny things.
03. Christian Louboutin NoNo Black Suede
Another shoe that has a great silhouette and is made with quality fabrics and construction.
02. Nike Flyknit Chukka FSB
I’m a huge fan of the Flyknit technology and on a rugged sole I can wear it all year round.
01. Nike HTM Mercurial Superfly
Probably my favourite shoe of the year. I think it’s been difficult to translate football footwear into Lifestyle for Nike, but this is an incredible use of technology and fabrics. I also feel like a Ninja when wearing them.
