British brand DOBSON enter their second season with this Spring/Summer collection for 2015. Specialising in workwear inspired cuts constructed from British suiting fabrics, the collection features a blend of utility and carefully considered aesthetics.
According to their profile, DOBSON designs its workwear inspired garments for ‘contemporary engineers, architects, and builders of the digitalage.’ The proliferation of workwear garments mostly remains out of context from their original purpose, but DOBSON’s design process acknowledges the past and reworks classic designs for present day needs.
That design ethos informs the material choices too. Wool, an original technical fabric, forms an important part of the DOBSON range across all seasons. They’ve harnessed the benefits of the material with its biodegradable and naturally sustainable attributes. It also performs with the body to help regulate your temperature, and it’s naturally durable.
The collection sees DOBSON collaborate with shirt specialists Sidian, Ersatz & Vanes for SS15. The result is a heavyweight wool barathea jacket, fully lined with a Sidian, Ersatz & Vanes cotton shirting and finished with white mother of pearl buttons.
