Designed to reflect the rainbows associated with wet weather, something that can often be found in both Manchester and Göteborg, the Dry Rainbow jeans feature a bright take on the traditional Nudie Jeans arcuate as well as on the selvedge detailing. Made in Italy from 100% organic 14 oz. ring spun Japanese selvedge denim, these beauties will age really nicely. I have a suspicion that the rainbow detailing will actually look more comfortable once the jeans have been put through their paces and become a good few shades lighter.
Woven using the crunch weaving technique on old shuttle looms (at their original speed), these are a quality item. The fabric has been slow-dyed to let the indigo really sink in, creating that really dark shade that you can see here – it will only add to the contrast effect when they age.
Each pair is individually numbered out of the 200 pairs made and comes in its own Unica box made from recycled fibres and bound with a vegetable tanned leather strap. It’s all about those finishing touches. The only fit available is Grim Tim, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we see more rainbow detailing leaking into the rest of the Nudie Jeans line at some point in the future.
The Oi Polloi x Nudie Jeans Grim Tim Dry Rainbow is available now from Oi Polloi for £185 a pair.
