Top 5 sneakers of 2014 by Ugly Mely

Gaining another female perspective on the fruits of last year, we’ve asked Parisian sneaker collector Ugly Mely to give us her top 5 sneakers of 2014.

These Top 5’s have proven really interesting, showcasing the variation in different people’s views on the sneaker highlights of the year just gone. Admittedly, we’re already substantially into 2015, but we couldn’t resist getting Ugly Mely’s take on 2014 and everything it had to offer. In her well known style, she’s supplied us with her own on the foot imagery to accompany her selection.

Be sure to follow Ugly Mely on Instagram if you don’t already.

In her own words, this is Mely’s top 5 sneakers of 2014 …

DSM New York Nike Air Python Black 01

05. DSM New York x Nike Air Python (Black)

I’m a big fan of basketball models like the Jordan 2, which is my favourite sneaker. I like the premium treatment on this Air Python and I’m glad to have found it in France.

Nike Air Jordan Future Black White 01

04. Nike Air Jordan Future (Black/White)

It’s been a long time since I have not fallen in love with a pair of Jordans. It took some time to find the Jordan Future in girls sizes. I hate to see the next version and colours!

adidas Originals Consortium ZX 420 Quotoole 01

03. adidas Originals Consortium ZX 420 ‘Quotoole’

The reissue of the adidas ZX 420 by Qu0te and Peter Tool’s art is a success! I find it fantastic to be able to leave the possibility to a collector to work on this kind of project. Adidas is a good example of a brand that love this.

Highs and Lows Le Coq Sportif R1000 Swans Pack 01

02. Highs and Lows x Le Coq Sportif ‘Swans’ pack

For me, this is the most beautiful collaboration that Le Coq Sportif released last year. Luckily, I had the chance to receive this pair in my size. The two colours are perfect and the inspiration is original.

adidas Originals Consortium Stan Smith reptile 01

01. adidas Originals Consortium Stan Smith ‘Reptile’

A legend, a classic, with a snakeskin treatment! There has been a lot of Stan Smith releases, but the most successful is the snakeskin of the Consortium pack.
