Iconic menswear destination The Hip Store have partnered with Jocks&Nerds to showcase Leeds, not only as the home city to one of the UK’s most respected stores, but also as a creative hub.
Outside of London it is no secret that the north of England is home to many of the most creative individuals the country has to offer, with areas such as Liverpool, Manchester and Sheffield normally stealing the limelight for their music, fashion and artistic credentials. Leeds often seems to be the unsung and dare I say forgotten city when it comes to creative destinations, The Hip Store and Jocks&Nerds take some time to talk with friends of the store who have helped shape the cultural landscape of the city.
Benjamin Holmes and Joe Torr from Village Bookstore, Matt Austin founder of Vast Design Agency, Paul Luke lecturer at Leeds College of Arts as well as Everton Campbell, The Hip Store owner, all photographed by Elliot Kennedy, shed light on what they do, why they do it and what makes Leeds so special.
‘Leeds Creativity’ can be read in full over on the Jocks&Nerds website, as well as in the latest print issue of the magazine.
