One for the basketball fans… we take a look around the incredible head quarters of NBA Europe here in London.
As you step out of the lift onto the 6th floor, you’re greeted by an NBA logo light box encompassed by a wall of 132 authentic NBA game balls. It definitely makes an instant impressions and sets the right tone for the rest of the 10,000 sq. ft. office space. Housing a modest 59 employees, there’s a lot of space at the NBA Europe head quarters, almost enough to play a game of basketball in, but not quite (it’s probably better that way). To be specific, at the centre of the office is a large recreation space featuring a full size regulation ‘zone’, as well as a 10ft by 6ft plasma screen set-up for playing NBA 2K15.
Dotted around the office is a near endless supply of inspirational artefacts from the game that we love, including jerseys from key players, made to the actual spec that those players would have performed in at the time of that exact design – a nice attention to detail. Every employees desk has their own jersey hung over their chair, accompanied by a wall featuring all 30 authentic NBA team jerseys, just incase they somehow forget how they look.
Meeting rooms are named after iconic heroes of the game; Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Shaquille O’Neal, and of course Michael Jordan. Each room is decked out in team colours, featuring the players name and number on the door, as well as various items of memorabilia dotted about and an inspirational quote on the wall.
If you love basketball, you couldn’t ask for a better office to work in in London. Thanks to NBA Europe for showing us around.
