Today we release one of my most anticipated TDS Mixes to date, coming from London based singer-songwriter Py.
It’s been a long time in the making this one, as mixtapes is not something that Py usually dose, so it took a little bit of persuading, but as I predicted, it was well worth it. I’ve been a fan of Py’s work for many years now and we’ve supported her on The Daily Street at several different stages of her career. It’s her creative approach to pop music that I find so unique and enticing and it’s this that made me think she’d be able to smash a TDS Mix in a very different way. Thankfully, I wasn’t mistaken.
Dipping in and out of tracks that she likes to listen to in her room, Py takes us on an inspirational journey of sound that goes from the Beach Boys to Ms Dynamite to Prince to All Saints, all woven together masterfully with the occasional acapella interlude from Py herself. Selflessly, Py hasn’t included any of her own songs, apart from the interludes she created for this mixtape. With this in mind, you should definitely go and listen to everything on her SoundCloud page.
