To celebrate 20 years of the Nike Air Max 95, The Rig Out shine a spotlight on London and its creative talents in this short film.
Featuring Novelist, Jetsss, Dark Sky, and Ryan Hawaii, all supposedly born around 1995 (I think that’s a little vague. Maybe Novelist was?), the film is a focus on what the Air Max 95 has long been the flag of; London Underground music culture. From Jungle in the mid ’90s to Grime 2.0 today, the 95 has been there doing its thing. It would have been nice to see the film explore the concept further to be honest. I know internet videos are meant to be over almost as soon as they begin, but the 95 has a rich cultural heritage in the UK and especially London, so it definitely could have been explored further.
Props to Dark Sky for writing an original score for the film, inspired by the Jungle sounds of the era, but not simply making a Jungle jam.
